Halloween

Halloween I believe is for children. Not for older adults dressing extremely inappropriately infront odf small children. But if that is what you want to do more power to you , but you wont ever see me like that. Many adults never grew up so they are dressed up now too. Some of them are funny and some just plain stupid. The ghosts are hung the skeltons are out, lets have a safe but yet great Halloween.

Our Little World

In a small town everyone knows everyone. You either like them or you dont. As for playing wyffle ball in gym class. We shouldnt play it!! The entire team almost masacres the game with yelling cussing and violent tag outs. In our little world we have one tracked minds and there is only 1 right thing. Small towns are funny and scary all at the same time.

Time Managment!!

Being in high school and working and trying to manage a life. Wow!, it seems never ending. You get up get dressed and start another day that is just a blur when you look back on it. You know you are too busy when you cant remember what you did yesterday. You go to school and then work, then homework and then bed. Your grades are dropping and your parents are on your butt telling you to keep them up. You can t hardly do it all, afterall we are only 1 person. But we will keep it up, trying to become adults and manage a life of our own.

Showing Angus Cattle

Angus cattle are a big business breed. They are very well known. So why is it that the show jocks think they should destroy the breed with crossbreeding. They are taking perfectly good show stock and putting in steriods and fake hair to make the Angus breed look more like a Maine Anjou or Simmetal. Angus arent meant to look like big show aniamls, just good food. You make way more money in the meat than you do the show. Showing although has turned to a competition of the minds, who can cheat the best. To some of the smaller showmen/women, they are just showing for the fun of it, not to see if they can cheat out the "Big Guys". The open Angus show now if you watch you can see who is purebred Angus and who isnt. The judges usually pick the animal that carries the better beef characteristics, which isnt always right if the judges knows that animal isnt pure Angus kick them to the bottom no matter the characteristics. Showing cattle will always be a fun summer hobby to those who respect the show its self!!

History of Halloween!!

Halloween marks the end of summer and harvest and begining of cold darkness and death. As the Samhains put it. Oct 31 is known as the night of the dead. The dead come back to earth to cause trouble and damage living peoples personal belongings.
The Samhains would build huge fires and talk of the dead returning to haunt them and ruin there lives and belongings. Some even spoke if the dead coming back for revenge on the people who may have contributed to there death. The saints and souls of these people were called " Hallowmas". Which is where the name Halloween comes from. The churches soon stepped in and made there mark on the event, by making it holy. By telling people they could talk or see there lost loved ones again.
Halloween now is a child holiday, for dressing up and going door to door and getting candy and wearing silly or " Scary" outfits. We dont think about what really started it all and why it is called "Halloween". All we really know is that we have fun and sometimes strange thing s happen.

Standarized Testing

Standardized testing is being tested right now. They are trying to decide if standarized testing is damaging our students. They say that in our smaller schools students are being put down and told they are in lower classes due to poor testing skills. The studetns know the material but they dont know how the testing companies are wording the tests. An advantage of standardized testing is that the results can be generalized and repeated, which shows a degree of validity and reliability. But it still only helps those who qualify with the good grades. The tests are important to know where you are in the material but if you dont have the study skills they may not show exactly where your at in the material.
